From my simple mind to… mine…

Carbonite followup

with 4 comments

It took 3 DAYS to back up my computer using Carbonite (80 gigs). Mostly because my upspeed connection is approximately 500k… most music/video files took quite some time.

Nevertheless, it’s all up there and since my download speed is in the range of 6MB, I should be ok on restores (I HOPE).

Again, I don’t have to do anything to backup. 🙂

  1. Out of curiosity, why did you pick Carbonite? Why not use S3 or one of the others?

  2. Probably because I didn’t spend a whole lot of time looking. 🙂

I found the Carbonite suggestion from another blog, Suckbusters:

What are your opinions on S3?

  3. You should check out Mozy which is super easy to use and far superior technically to Carbonite or any of the S3 options. Mozy is super easy to use, super fast and more flexible than anything else out there. I did a free trial of Carbonite back in October and found it pretty hokey.
